Plate
The plate is circular in shape, with a plain rim pinched at regular intervals. It is complete, except for two small chips on the rim. The thick, slightly domed rim is covered with a yellowish-brown coating. The rim is slightly inward sloping and concave, with a small bulge at its junction with the wall. The wall is curved and the base is slightly domed. On the reverse, the plate rests on a flat base. There are three traces of three beads arranged in a triangle on the reverse of the plate. There are linear marks on the inner base and numerous marks under the base, near its edge ; The decoration is applied by transfer printed; it is blue in color and features the Greek pattern. The decoration is printed over the entire surface of the plate. The decoration on the rim, wall and base consists of two different motifs in reserve, repeated alternately. The pale blue background is veined and decorated with leaves and pearls in reserve. The two motifs are, in one case, a square, octagonal medallion surrounded by a garland of flowers, and, in the other, an ancient Greek vase. The four octagonal medallions feature two figures or divinities from Greek antiquity, in reserve on a dark blue background. The four vases are of different shapes and decorated with ancient Greek figures on the wall. The background decoration is surrounded by a wide ring featuring two rows of out-of-phase semicircles, each adorned with a central cross. The main scene depicts Jupiter standing on a two-wheeled chariot drawn by four horses. The decoration is clearly rendered, and the frieze junction is visible.
