Plate
The plate is complete. The plate is circular, with a plain rim. In cross-section, the rim is in line with the marli, which slopes towards the bottom; the latter is slightly domed on the face. The reverse of the plate is almost truncated cone-shaped, with a slightly concave wall. The base is angular. The body is beige and covered with a bluish-white glaze. Three linear, triangular bead marks are visible under the rim. The plate’s support shows traces of wear; the decoration is hand-painted, traced in black and painted dark blue underglaze. It is of the floral braid and flower type. The painted decoration is applied to the wall below the inner rim and to the inner base. The decoration under the rim is a narrow braid in black. The decoration is in reserve on a blue background. Confined to the upper half of the band, it consists of a series of half-leaves outlined in black and each trimmed with a few parallel strokes painted in black, of the acanthus feather stroke type. The central motif consists of a small flower surrounded by leafy stems. The flower is outlined in black and partially painted blue. The curved plant stems are outlined in black and the leaves are painted blue.
