Plate
The plate is complete; some cracks and breaks have been repaired with glue. The plate is octagonal in shape with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is low and the base is flat. The plate rests on a small ring-shaped foot that is free of glaze ; The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze. It covers all the inner and outer surfaces, as well as the center of the underside of the base; it is of the medallion plant type. The decoration on the marli is reproduced on the sides; it consists of a central rosette painted in faded blue, flanked on either side by a garland made of a fillet trimmed on either side with a pair of leaves painted dark blue. These elements are inserted into cartouches made of a fine fillet, straight near the edge, wavy at the ends and wide near the wall. The decoration on the background continues on the wall. It begins in the center of the background with a double-ringed medallion housing a leafy, flowering stem that rests on the medallion’s inner rim, surrounded by tall grasses. The back and wall are divided into eight triangular panels, the truncated apex of which rests on the medallion. The lower part of the medallions is adorned with an uneven, blue-painted rock terrace, supporting a long, leafy, flowering stem; the flowers are all more or less different. The outer wall is also divided into eight parallelogram-shaped panels encircled by a double floret; they are all adorned with the same straight, leafy, flowering plant. The center of the underside of the bottom is adorned with a medallion made from a double ring, housing an inscription of four Chinese characters arranged in a square.
