Plate
The plate is complete; there are some missing parts around the rim and a few breaks that have been repaired with glue and repainted. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the side is socked and the bottom is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small milled foot that is free of glaze ; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue underglaze. It is of the vegetable and precious object type. The molded decoration can be seen on the rim of the plate, which is paneled. The painted decoration is visible on the inner rim, on the wall and on the inner base. The decoration on the marli consists of a complex frieze. Near the rim, there is a narrow braid trimmed with two rows of staggered teeth. This is followed by a braid decorated with a row of interlocking V-shaped lines, then a broad line painted dark blue, on which rests a row of alternating tridents and solid cubes. The wall is decorated with a braid featuring a row of core ovals with radiating lines. The central decoration is encircled by a ring outlined in blue. It features four of the eight precious objects of Confucian philosophy, surrounded by leafy, flowering stems.
