Plate
The plate is complete, with only a few small chips missing from the rim. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim is slightly concave and slopes inwards, the side is socked and the bottom is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small milled foot, located in line with the outer wall and free of glaze. The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze, with touches of gilding, in the Imari style. It is of the vegetal and geometric medallion type. The painted decoration is visible on the inner rim and inner base. The inner band is decorated with a wide band of reserved mantling on a blue-painted background. The mantling is painted in red and faded red, with gold highlights. They are separated by a reserve leaf painted in faded red. The central decoration features a five-pointed star made of heart-shaped mantling painted red and faded red, pointing outwards. The center of the star is in reserve, adorned with a leafy stem and flower, traced and painted in blue, and enhanced by leaves traced and painted in faded red. A long leafy stem, traced and painted blue, emerges from each of the mantling points, topped by a flower traced in red and painted in red and gold. Red leaves have been added to the stem. The spaces between these stems are each adorned with a mantling-like shape, elongated in reserve and painted in red and faded red; each is topped with a half-flower traced and painted in blue, which is surmounted by leaves traced and painted en suite, with the exception of the central leaf, which is traced in red and painted in red and gold.
