Plate reproduction
The plate is complete. It is circular in shape, with an undulating rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards; the wall is high and curves towards the bottom, which is flat. On the reverse, the plate rests on a ring-shaped foot, the underside of which is free of glaze; the bottom is recessed and flat. There is a mark printed below the bottom in a double ring: it resembles one of the eight Buddhist emblems or one of the emblems of the eight immortals. There are minor flaws in the glaze and paste on the reverse ; The decoration is transfer printed in blue on the front and reverse, and molded. The molded decoration affects the outline, which is wavy, as well as the entire plate, with the exception of the bottom, which features rounded, radiating flutes on the face. The printed decoration features an animal motif. On the front, the decoration covers the border, the wall and the base. The border is decorated with a braid featuring alternating groups of crosshatchings. The marli is decorated with a floral design and curved leafy stems that also cover the wall. The central motif is encircled by a wide braid with alternating groups of crosshatching. The main motif features a bird in profile, with its head turned upside down, standing on a rock with a hole in it, surrounded by leafy, flowering stems. On the reverse, the border is decorated with three groups of leafy stems, arranged in a triangle. The cut-out decoration is visible on the front of the plate.
