Plate
The plate is complete; it is hooped in metal and some breaks have been repaired with metal studs. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is socked and the bottom is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small milled foot, located in line with the outer wall and free of glaze. The plate is broken and has been repaired with metal spikes. The reverse side of the plate features eleven pairs of drilled holes, each housing a copper metal spike; six of these spikes are also visible on the face of the plate. Two pairs of holes are also visible on the face of the plate, and some of the holes are plugged with white material. In addition, two of the studs visible on the reverse are of a larger size. Finally, the rim of the plate is surrounded by a metal ring, on which no joint is visible; the decoration is hand-painted on the cover in polychrome pink, blue, white, yellow, green, black and dark brown, in the Famille rose style, with touches of gilding. It is of the flower basket type. The painted decoration can be seen on the inner wall, on the inner base and on the reverse of the inner wall. The decoration on the border is framed by a fillet in red near the rim and wall, and consists of a background of spirals in brown, decorated in reserve with two alternating groups of different elements. One group consists of an open scroll with coiled ends; it is traced in brown and painted in brown and gold; it houses scrolling stems traced in black and painted in green, with a large flower painted in pink, and others painted in yellow and blue; a spray of leaves is painted in blue. The other group is a leafy, flowering stem, outlined in black and painted green and blue, topped by a pink-painted flower. The flower is set between poly-lobed braids traced in black and painted in blue and green; these braids are bordered by fan-shaped leaves painted in pink. The decoration on the wall consists of two pairs of concentric rings. The background decoration consists of a flower vase that appears metallic; outlined in black and painted brown with gilding, it features a low, very swollen body, a short, constricted neck and a flat, wide rim; its wall is decorated in reserve with a row of scrolls outlined in black and painted yellow, each surrounding a pink-painted flower, while the neck is adorned with a row of rings outlined in black and painted green. It is largely obliterated. The vase rests on a sock support painted blue, and from its neck emerge leafy and flowering stems; the stems are traced in black, while the leaves are traced in black and painted blue and green, while the flowers are painted pink with touches of yellow. From the neck hangs a cord drawn in black and painted yellow. On the reverse of the marli are two leafy, flowering stems outlined in red.
