Plate
The plate is complete. It is circular with a plain rim. The marli is concave, the wall low and curved towards the bottom, which is flat and footless. On the reverse, the rim is folded in on itself and slightly convex. There is a ring on the inner base. There are linear marks under the bottom. There are impression marks under the base: four 4 oval seals in a row, each surrounding a different element: a dog in profile, an illegible motif, Britania seated and seen in profile, S E. An elongated oval cartouche reads: LONDON. Another hallmark, also visible below the base, features a dagger and a horseshoe encircling a heart; the decoration is visible on the marli, near the rim: it consists of a domed bulge underlined by a narrow incised groove.
