Plate
The plate is complete. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is socked and the base is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small milled foot, located in line with the outer wall and free of glaze. The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze, with touches of gilding, in the Imari style. It is of the vegetal panel and medallion type. The painted decoration is visible on the inner rim, inner wall and inner base, as well as on the reverse of the rim. The decoration emanates from the center of the background and extends to the marli. The central decoration is a small circular medallion with a double ring outlined in blue: it is decorated with four fruit pairs, two pomegranates and two other elements arranged alternately. The pomegranates are outlined in blue and painted in blue, faded red and gold, while the other two fruits are outlined in red and painted in red and gold. From this central medallion emerge twelve radiating panels, each with a pointed top; they are all traced in blue and adorned with four different plant motifs, repeated in alternation. One panel features a dark blue background covered with a leafy stem ending in scrolls, traced and painted in gold; the center, in reserve, is adorned with a circular flower traced in red and painted in faded red. The other panels feature leafy plants and flowers; two are traced and painted in blue, with leaves and flowers traced in red and painted in red and gold, while the third plant is free of blue. The space between the tops of the panels, near the edge of the plate, is decorated with a row of three-lobed elements traced and painted in blue, each adorned with a half-flower whose center is in reserve and painted red, while the petals are traced in gold. On the reverse, the border is decorated with two similar elements, composed of a wavy leafy stem traced and painted in blue with flowers traced and painted in red. The rim of the plate is covered with an iron-brown coating.
