Plate
The plate is complete; there are a few chips on the rim and a crack. The plate is circular, with a plain rim. In cross-section, the rim is in line with the marli, which is high, slightly concave and sloping towards the bottom; the wall is low and curved towards the bottom, which is flat. The reverse side of the plate is truncated cone-shaped with a flat bottom, and an angular base. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a white glaze. Three traces of linear and triangular pernettes are visible under the marli. There are flaws in the enamel on the face and reverse, as well as needle holes in the enamel on the reverse. The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze. It is geometric and armorial. The decoration on the marli consists of a fillet with two slightly offset wavy lines. The background is adorned with a monogram made up of two identical letters arranged in a mirror pattern, bordered by acanthus leaves. They are surmounted by a marquis’s crown. Above and below the monogram is a hatched oval adorned with four pearls.
