Plate
The plate is complete; a break has been repaired with glue. It is circular in shape, with a wavy rim. The rim is slightly swollen on the face. The marli slopes slightly inwards, while the sock’s low wall curves towards the bottom, which is slightly domed. On the reverse, the plate rests on a small ring-shaped foot. The bottom is recessed and flat. There are slight flaws in the glaze on the front and reverse ; The decoration is molded and painted underglaze. The relief-molded decoration is perceptible on the rippled contour of the plate and on the marli near the rim; it is of the ironwork motif. It features an inward-pointing spearhead motif, with each spearhead edged with scrolls. The blue-painted motif is Chinese. It is found on both the marli and the background. On the border, it is composed of five similar leafy stems, between which are painted wavy lines depicting birds in flight. The background features a grassy terrace lined with small solid circular boulders; in the center is an oval boulder supporting leafy stems in bloom. To the right is a willow tree and, to the left, a small, tall oriental-style building. Birds twirl in the sky.
