Plate
The plate is complete, with only small enamel chips missing from the rim. The plate is circular, with a plain rim. In cross-section, the rim is in line with the marli, which slopes towards the bottom; the latter is slightly domed on the face. The reverse of the plate is truncated cone-shaped, with a slightly depressed center. The base of the plate is angular. The body is beige in color and covered with a bluish-white glaze; the reverse is missing some glaze. Three traces of linear and triangular pernettes are visible under the marli ; The decoration is hand-painted in bichromy. It has been traced and painted in dark blue underglaze and red overglaze. It is of the compartmented braid and floral basket type. The decoration is painted on the marli, near the edge, and in the center of the background. The border is decorated with a braid. It is outlined in blue and painted in blue and red. The braid is decorated with three alternately repeated motifs. Of the two main motifs, one is in reserve on a blue-painted background: it consists of a wing-shaped quarter-flower set between two scrolls, followed by a quarter-flower flanked by a scroll. The flowers are adorned with radiating lines in red. The other motif is a latticework drawn in red and trimmed with blue-painted pearls. These two motifs are separated by a blue-painted half-flower, set in two blue-painted vertical bands, while the sides are in reserve. The background features a flowery basket. The basket is truncated cone-shaped, with a flat bottom and a bulging horizontal rim; it is outlined in blue and partially filled with a latticework painted red; the basket’s rendering imitates rattan. From the top of the basket emerge a central half-flower flanked by two aligned leaves; these are surrounded by leafy vegetal stems and grapes, and all these trimmings are traced in dark blue. The two leaves adjoining the central flower are partially filled with red radiating lines. The other leaves are painted blue, while the grapes are partially painted blue. The basket rests on an ironwork-like support, the elements of which are arranged in a mirror-like fashion. It consists of two acanthus leaves curving upwards. The leaves are outlined and painted blue. The center of the support features a plant motif pointing downwards, followed by three pearls arranged in a triangle: it is traced in dark blue and painted blue.
