Plate
The plate is complete; there is a break in the wall which has been repaired with glue. It is circular in shape, with an undulating rim. The rim slopes inwards, the wall is low and curves towards the bottom, which is flat. On the reverse, it rests on a ring-shaped foot whose flat base is free of glaze. The center is recessed and flat; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue on the front and reverse. The molded decoration appears as a series of raised bulges between two grooves perpendicular to the rim, on the inner margin. The painted decoration is geometric, in the Chinese Kraak style. The inner surface of the object is entirely decorated. The marli is bordered by a wavy line near the edge and another on the bottom. The wall is decorated with a row of parallelogram-shaped compartments, each housing an object or flower in alternation; each object is different and ribboned, and approaches the emblems of the Eight Immortals if not the Eight Precious Objects, while the leafy and flowering stems are in identical pairs; one includes fruit like peaches. The compartments are separated by rectangular bands; they are adorned with a row of vertical pearls, with a central flower or rhombus, and closed by full and reserved arched bands. The central decoration is encircled by a ring into which an eight-pointed star, similar to a lotus flower, is inserted; the space between them is filled with solid linear geometric figures, including swastikas. The main decoration consists of a group of ribboned objects, approaching the emblems of the Eight Immortals, if not the Eight Precious Objects. On the reverse, the bowl is lined with compartments of the same shape as those on the front; they are delimited by a net and closed at the ends by a line, the one near the edge being wavy and the other at the junction of the wall with the foot. The larger ones are decorated with a rhombus surrounded by four pearls arranged in a cross, and the smaller ones with a solid, elongated rectangle.
