Plate
The plate is complete, with only small enamel chips missing from the rim. The plate is circular, with a plain rim. In cross-section, the rim is in line with the marli, which slopes towards the bottom; the wall is curved and the bottom is flat. The reverse side of the plate has a slightly sunken base; the wall is curved and the marli inclined. The base of the plate is angular. The body is beige and covered with a bluish-white glaze; there is a burr near the rim. Three traces of linear and triangular pernettes are visible under the marli ; The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome. It has been traced and painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze with yellow tops. It is of the compartmented braid and floral basket type. The decoration is painted on the marli, near the rim, and in the center of the background. The border is decorated with an annular braid. It is outlined in blue and painted in blue, red and yellow. The braid is decorated with two repeated motifs. The main motif is a wavy horizontal line painted red, embellished with blue pearls. The other motif is a latticework in red. These two motifs are separated by a horizontal band painted yellow and delimited by a vertical line painted red. The background features a flowery basket. The basket is truncated cone-shaped, with a flat swollen bottom and a horizontal swollen rim; it is outlined in blue and partially filled with a latticework painted red; the basket’s rendering imitates rattan. From the top of the basket emerge a central flower flanked by two aligned leaves; these are surrounded by leafy plant stems, and all this trim is traced in dark blue, with the exception of two curved plant stems, painted red. The flowers and some of the leaves are partially filled with red radiating lines, as well as being painted yellow. Other leaves are painted blue. The basket rests on a sort of ironwork-like support, the elements of which are arranged in a mirror-like fashion. It consists of two acanthus leaves curved upwards and linked by a semicircular arch. The leaves are outlined and painted blue. Beneath the center of the support is a blue-painted pearl, flanked by two curved plant stems with a blue pearl; the pearls are painted yellow with a red-painted central core. A similar bead, with four cores, is painted in the center of the support.
