Plate
The plate is complete; some enamel is missing around the rim. It is circular in shape, with a plain rim. The plate is massive. In cross-section, the marli is narrow and sloping towards the bottom, the wall is low and curved towards the bottom, which is flat. On the reverse, the plate is almost frustoconical in cross-section with a flat bottom, a slight demarcation separating the wall from the marli, and a rounded bottom rim. Turning rings are visible on the reverse. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a white glaze; there are slight flaws in the glaze. Three linear and triangular pernette marks are visible under the marli. There are small linear marks on the inner base. The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze. It is of the compartmented braid and medallion type. The decoration is painted on the marli, near the edge, and on the background. The border is decorated with a ring-shaped braid in blue. It is decorated with two alternating motifs. One motif consists of a row of oblique lines in red, bordered by a vertical line in blue at each end. The other consists of four pairs of double oblique lines in red, trimmed with blue-painted pearls and bordered by a vertical blue line at each end. The background features a small circular medallion, outlined in blue and adorned with a trellis outlined in red with blue-painted beads. This medallion is surrounded by a large ring of small pearls interspersed with larger pearls.
