Plate
The plate is complete; the glaze around the rim has disappeared. It is circular with a plain rim. On the front, the rim slopes towards the bottom, and the low wall curves towards the slightly domed bottom. On the reverse, the plate is truncated cone-shaped with a small, slightly concave central base. The reverse glaze is slightly flawed. The body is beige, and the object is covered with a white glaze. There are three pernette marks arranged in a triangle on the reverse. There is a mark in red under the base, in two registers: iL 16. The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze. Vegetal and floral motifs. The decoration is painted on the marli and on the background. The marli is decorated with a blue braid and a red latticework with blue pearls. It supports a row of spirals traced in dark blue. The braid and spirals are interrupted at regular intervals by two different groups. One consists of an oval traced in red and bordered on either side by two leaves painted in blue and bordered by a red fillet and a three-lobed element traced and painted in red at the top; the oval surrounds a flower with a red core and blue petals. The other group consists of a three-lobed element traced in red, topped by a three-lobed element traced and painted in red, and surrounding a group of three leaves painted in blue and trimmed with volutes traced in red. The decoration in the center is complex: it consists of a group of mirrored high elements, including acanthus leaves painted in faded blue, stems painted in dark blue, all surrounded by a fillet traced in red, as well as leaves and flowers traced and painted in red. At the top, this ensemble supports a wicker basket traced in red and painted dark blue, lined with flowers traced in red and painted blue, and leaves painted dark blue.
