Plate
The plate is incomplete; a small fragment of marli is missing, and the gap has been filled with plaster, and breaks have been consolidated with metal spikes. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is low and the base is flat. The plate rests on a small milled foot, located in line with the outer wall, which is slightly curved and free of glaze. A break runs through the center of the plate and four other breaks are grouped around the rim. On the back of the plate, the breaks have been repaired with ten elongated copper metal studs of two different sizes, inserted into small circular drilled holes and held in place with a hard, yellowish-white paste. All but one of the spike ends are invisible on the face of the plate; the decoration almost completely covers the inside of the plate. It is hand-drawn in red and black and painted in polychrome with gold highlights, over glaze. The decoration covers the rim and bottom of the plate. It is floral in style. The marli decoration is composed of two similar elements, repeated in alternation and delineated by a thin line in red near the edge of the plate. These elements are all half-oval in shape, bordered on the inside by two concentric curved bands outlined in black and painted in yellow enamel for one, and blue for the other. One of the half-ovals is adorned with a leafy, flowering plant, the elements of which are traced in black; the stem and leaves are painted green, while the flower is painted pink. It is trimmed with a latticework of lozenges traced in red; the center of the lozenges is adorned with dashes arranged in a cross. The other half-oval features a flower and scrolls in reserve on a background painted orange. Traced in black, the flower is painted in shades of red and yellow, while the scrolls are traced in red. The spaces between the half-ovals are decorated with two floral motifs, repeated alternately near the edge of the plate. One of these consists of a flower traced in red and painted gold, topped by a few leaves traced in black and painted green; this flower is joined, on the one hand, by a vegetal traced in red and topped by a flower painted purple and long leaves traced in black and painted green and, on the other hand, by a vegetal traced in black and painted green, topped by a flower traced and painted orange-red. The other floral motif consists of a plant traced in red, topped by a flower and buds traced in the same way and painted gold, which are surrounded by long leaves traced in black and painted green, as well as a flower traced in black and painted pink. The central motif consists of a bouquet of flowers, whose stems are tied with a ribbon traced in red and painted gold. The branches and leaves are drawn in black and painted green, with the exception of one which is painted red, while the flowers are different: one is painted purple, with a core traced in black and painted red and yellow, another is traced in black and painted pink and red with a green-painted core, another is traced and painted red, and a final flower is traced in orange and painted gold with a yellow-painted core; two buds are traced and painted the same, with yellow-painted highlights. The rim of the plate is covered with a dark brown plaster.
