Plate
The plate is complete. The plate is circular in shape, with a wavy rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is low and the base is flat. The plate rests on a small ring-shaped foot that is free of glaze. The gilding around the rim is missing. The plate has a break that has been repaired with copper metal spikes. The break is surrounded by six pairs of circular holes drilled on the reverse. The plate is repaired with six copper metal studs, each made from a rod and inserted into a pair of small holes. These studs are invisible on the face of the plate. Missing around the rim, 6 studs; The decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and red overglaze, with touches of gilding, in the Imari style, and molded. It is of the vegetal type. The painted decoration is visible on the marli, on the inner wall and base, and on the outer wall. The molded decoration is visible on the rim of the plate, which is undulated. The marli frieze is composed of two different elements, placed alternately; it is bordered by a double fillet traced in blue near the wall. The main element is traced and painted red: it consists of two superimposed horizontal branches, one of which is decorated at each end with a flower traced and painted red with a golden heart, while the other is decorated with two central flowers whose petals are traced and painted blue, with a red heart. This motif, repeated four times, is interrupted by the same motif, repeated the same number of times. It consists of an oval traced and painted in blue, on which a flower is traced in gilding. The marli has been gilded in places. The central motif is a medallion plant scene surrounded by a ring of smaller medallions. The ring consists of two pairs of three medallions arranged in a triangle and alternating. One of the pairs is a three-lobed medallion with a double line drawn in blue and painted in sequence. This medallion houses a double-sloped longhouse traced in blue and with a faded red roof, resting on an undulating terrace traced and painted in blue. A blue-painted tree with a long branch covers the roof of a building. Various red-painted leaves and flowers decorate the scene. The other pair features a circular medallion traced in blue; it is adorned with what appears to be a pomegranate traced and painted in red, trimmed with leaves traced in red and painted in faded red, then with leaves traced and painted in blue. Between each medallion rises a long leafy stem traced in red, which is trimmed at the base and top with a flower. Alternately, these pairs of flowers are traced and painted in red with a blue heart, and traced and painted in blue with a red heart. Gilding additions are visible. The central medallion features a swollen pot, traced and painted in blue, from which emerge branches traced and painted in blue and trimmed with leaves traced and painted in blue and traced in red. The pot rests on a terrace made of planks traced in blue and painted in faded red, and in the central opening of a fence traced and painted en suite. Gilding has been added around the rim of the plate. The reverse of the plate is adorned with three long leafy branches, traced and painted in red and arranged in a triangle. The foot is encircled by a double ring bordered by a single ring, outlined in blue.
