Plate
The plate is complete; there are a few small chips around the rim and a few chips on the reverse. The plate is circular in shape with an undulating rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is low and the base is flat. The plate rests on a small milled foot in line with the outer wall, which is slightly curved and free of glaze ; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue underglaze and pinkish red overglaze, with touches of gilding, in the Imari style. It is floral in style. The molded decoration is visible around the rim of the plate, which is slightly wavy. Painted decoration is visible on the inner rim, wall and base, as well as on the outer wall and under the base. The marli and wall are divided into eight trapezoidal panels, the top of which ends in a point with wavy sides. There is a blue-painted fillet near the edge, and the space between the edge and the top of each panel is decorated with a central flower traced and painted in pinkish red and flanked by leaves traced and painted in blue, with a touch of gilding. The panels are decorated with two different motifs, placed alternately; all but two rest on a high terrace traced and painted in blue on the wall, while the other two terraces are traced in faded red. One of the motifs is vegetal and floral: it consists of an off-center leafy plant, traced and painted in blue with leaves painted in blue and red, and topped with a large flower traced and painted in red. One of the branches extends to the right, near the edge of the plate; leafy and flowery, it is traced and painted in blue and red. The other motif consists, in two of the four panels, of a small central building with a gable roof, outlined in blue and painted in faded blue and red, and surrounded by trees, including two deciduous trees outlined and painted in blue, two fruit trees, outlined in blue with red highlights, and mountains. In the other two cases, the panels are adorned with a terrace traced in red, supporting a building made of a roof on posts traced in blue and painted blue with gilding, which is bordered by a stylized willow tree, traced in blue and red and painted blue with touches of gilding. The central motif is encircled by a ring. It is composed of a large leafy plant, traced and painted in blue and garnished with various flowers, traced in red and painted in red, blue and gold. The reverse of the plate features three leafy, flowering plants, traced and painted in red and blue, and arranged in a triangle. The center of the base features a ring traced in blue, which houses a square traced in red, enclosing a pseudo-Chinese sign traced in red. The rim of the plate is covered in brown plaster.
