Plate
The plate is complete; there are some missing parts around the rim and a few flaws on the inner base. The plate is circular in shape, with an octagonal rim and concave corners. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is socked and the bottom is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small, glaze-free, milled foot; the decoration is traced and hand-painted in underglaze blue. The decoration covers the rim and bottom of the plate. It is floral in style. The border is decorated with a frieze close to the edge, consisting of two groups of elements repeated alternately on the sides of the plate’s border; the difference is in their central flower. The frieze features a central flower surmounted by a small leafy stem. It is bordered on either side by a Grecque, then a small flower bordered by two blue-painted leaves. The background is bordered by a double ring. The background is decorated with a series of slender leafy stems, trimmed with flowers, including a large one in the center; a winged insect twirls to the left.
