Plate
The plate is complete; it has a crack. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is socked and the base is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small milled foot, which is free of glaze. The inner surface is uneven, and the glaze is matte; the decoration is hand-painted in pale blue underglaze. The decoration is floral. The painted decoration is visible on the inner rim, wall and base. The frieze consists of a narrow braid underlined by a ring and decorated with a latticework of alternating X’s and lozenges. It supports a half-flower at regular intervals. The decoration on the wall is a braid similar to that on the border. The central decoration consists of a bouquet of flowers tied with a wavy ribbon.
