Plate
The plate is complete; it has a slight defect on its inner base and some cracks. The plate is circular with a plain rim. The rim slopes slightly inwards, the wall is socked and the bottom is flat and recessed. The plate rests on a small milled foot that is free of glaze; the decoration is traced and hand-painted in pale blue underglaze. The decoration is visible on the rim, side and bottom of the plate, as well as on the reverse. The decoration is vegetal. The marli decoration is bordered by a fillet near the rim and wall, and is composed of three pairs of alternating leafy and flowery plant motifs resting on the fillet near the wall. The decoration on the wall is a star latticework braid with a central flower, which is interrupted in four places by a group of leafy and flowery ensembles and bordered by a pair of arcs-de-circle. The background decoration is encircled by a ring and consists of a spiral terrace on which rest two leafy, flowering plants on either side of a tall pine tree. The marli is decorated on the reverse with two wavy flowering stems. The rim of the plate is covered with an iron-brown coating.
