Plate
The plate is complete. It is circular in shape with a plain rim. On the front, the narrow marli slopes towards the bottom, and the low wall curves towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, the plate rests on a ring-shaped foot, the base of which is partially unglazed; the bottom is recessed and flat. The reverse enamel is pitted with small holes. The body is beige, and the object is covered with a bluish-white enamel. There are three pernette marks arranged in a triangle on the reverse. The enamel on the front is shiny. The foot has two holes facing each other; the inside of one is covered with enamel, while the other is not ; The decoration is hand-painted in blue and traced in dark blue, almost black, on the face of the object. The painted decoration is animal-like, in the Kraak style from China. The inner surface of the object is entirely decorated. There is a wide painted fillet near the rim. The rim and wall are decorated with compartments, divided into two alternating types. The larger compartments are trapezoidal in shape, with rounded upper corners and a simple fillet around the outer rim. Each one alternates between a ribboned object similar to the emblems of the Eight Immortals or the Eight Precious Objects, but highly stylized, and a large oval flower surrounded by stems with beaded tips. Between these compartments are tongues of the same length, but narrower than the compartments. They are delimited at the top by a wide band. The tongues are adorned with four vertical lines, the whole surrounded by a line. The central decoration is encircled by a double ring and consists of a lake scene, featuring a bird, probably a peacock, seen in profile and standing on a rock; it is surrounded by long, leafy, flowering plants and an insect twirling in the sky.
