Plate
The plate is complete. It is circular in shape, with the rim pinched at regular intervals. The rim is thick and slightly flared. The rim is slightly domed, the brim flat, the wall curved and the base flat. On the reverse, the plate rests on a solid ring foot. There is a mark printed in mauve under the base: DAVENPORT; the decoration is molded and painted on a gold glaze. It is visible on the outer rim and around the edge. The molded decoration takes the form of knotted ribbons at regular intervals around the rim. The rim has a double step in cross-section and is also pinched at regular intervals; the pinching extends into a small, elongated bulge on the marli, which fades in the middle of the marli.
