Saucer

The saucer is incomplete; a small shard of the rim is missing and some breaks have been repaired with metal studs. It is circular in shape. The wall is flared at the top, and the rim is tapered. The wall curves at the base towards the sock, which is flat. It rests on a rounded foot ring. The underside of the base is recessed and flat. The foot is beveled and free of glaze. On the reverse, there are five copper metal studs, the ends of which are inserted in five pairs of drilled holes; the holes are visible on the inner wall, and have been filled with white paste ; The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome enamels of pink, orange, green, violet and black on glaze, with gilding. It is floral and monogrammed, in the Famille rose style. The decoration is painted under the rim, on the wall and on the inner base. Under the rim, it consists of a double orange fillet bordering a row of diamond-headed spearheads, traced in red; the whole is enhanced with gilding. The decoration on the wall consists of small identical garlands of flowers painted in red, pink and violet, and green leaves; between them is a small flower painted in violet. The decoration in the center of the background is an oval medallion made of a green-painted ring, which is bordered by a ring of pearls traced in red and painted gold; it is surmounted and bordered by a cord of leaves traced in black and painted green, curved into a loop in the center and near the ends. The medallion surrounds a monogram of letters traced in red and painted gold: JFCE (probably). The top of the rim bears traces of gilding.
