Saucer
The saucer is complete. It is circular in shape. The wall is flared at the top, and the rim is straight. The wall curves at the base towards the flat bottom. It rests on a wide annular foot. The underside of the base is recessed and flat. The foot is beveled and free of glaze. The saucer is thick; the decoration covers the inside of the saucer, i.e. the inner rim and bottom. The decoration is floral, treated in pseudo Imari. It is hand-painted in two-tone blue underglaze, then traced and painted in iron red overglaze. A fillet is traced under the inner rim in blue. It borders a row of off-center beaded ovals in blue, interrupted by two stylized mirror-like scrolls in four cross-shaped areas, all with red highlights. The decoration on the inner base consists of a leafy stem, traced and painted in blue, supporting a large flower with veins traced in blue. It is surrounded by four smaller leafy stems, traced and painted in blue. The remaining surface of the background and wall is covered with red-painted leaves.
