Saucer
The saucer is complete; two breaks have been repaired with metal studs. It is circular in shape. The wall is flared at the top, the rim straight and the top of the rim, plain, is beveled on the outside. The wall curves at the base towards the sock, which is flat. It rests on an annular foot; the underside of the bottom is recessed and flat. There is a small incised ring in the center of the bottom. There is a mark painted in blue under the bottom, in cursive letters: ff. The outer wall features three copper metal studs, the ends of which have been inserted into three pairs of holes running through the wall; the ends of the studs have been riveted to the inner wall of the cup ; The decoration is painted and applied by transfer printing. The decoration is blue with an oriental motif (Mother and child). There is a fillet painted on the top of the rim, which has slightly run off the inner rim. The printed decoration is visible on the bottom and inner wall. The decoration consists of an oriental scene with figures and plants. The main scene features three Oriental-style figures: a woman and child are seated on a bench, the child is holding a fan and a woman is standing to the woman’s right; a rock with a hole in it and a long, leafy, flowering stem separate them. A low fence, bordered on the left by a stylized rock with a hole, a symbol of the Chinese philosophy of Taoism, trimmed with leafy, flowering stems, runs behind the figures, who are surrounded by leafy, flowering stems; butterflies flutter by the child.
