Saucer
The saucer is complete; it has a crack. It is circular in shape. The wall is flared at the top, curving towards the rim, which is plain. The wall curves at the base towards the sock, which is flat. It rests on a ring-shaped foot, the base of which is free of glaze. The underside of the base is recessed and flat; the decoration is hand-painted in polychrome of blue underglaze and red and gold overglaze, on the face of the object. The decoration is plant-like, in the Japanese Imari style. The wall and base are surrounded by a blue-painted ring. The top of the wall has a blue background, with ovals and half-ovals in reserve, each adorned with a flower traced in red and painted in orange or gold. The blue background is also covered with gold-painted foliage. The blue background is interrupted by two facing spearhead motifs in reserve, with two rectangular geometrical motifs between them, similar to an open book. The spearhead motifs are adorned with leafy stems painted blue and flowers traced in red and painted orange or gold. Other reserve shapes feature long, leafy stems painted blue and flowers outlined in red and painted orange or gold. The background decoration, framed by a blue-painted ring, consists of blue-painted leafy stems and flowers outlined in red and painted in orange and gold.
