Saucer

The saucer is complete. It is circular in shape. The wall is flared at the top, the rim is straight and the top of the rim is plain and beveled on the outside. The wall curves at the base towards the sock, which is flat. It rests on an annular foot; the underside of the bottom is recessed and flat. There is a blue-painted mark under the bottom: U. The decoration is hand-painted in cobalt blue, under glaze. It is of the Chinese house type. The decoration under the inner rim is a ribbon trimmed with a double lattice, underlined by a fillet. The background features a terrace with an Oriental-style house topped by a tower. This is a three-quarter view of the house, with its gable wall and side wall. The gable wall features a doorway topped by a second-storey oriel window, while the side wall has a long window. The roof is double-pitched, with a pillar at each end. It is topped by a vertical tower with a square window and covered by a flattened triangular roof; the center is topped by a straight vertical pole. This house is adjoined by a fence, made of two distinct parts. The main panel is adorned with a latticework with a central cross. The ends of the fence are identical: two downward-sloping sections made of a sloping top beam and vertical planks. Various grasses and trees rise behind the fence sections, including a willow tree on the right. Stylized bird sailboats twirl in the sky. The terrace is underlined by a row of five triangles made of superimposed lines and pointing downwards. Below them is another row of three triangles supporting stylized plants.
