Saucer
The saucer is complete. It is circular in shape. The wall is flared at the top, the rim straight and the top of the rim, plain, is beveled on the outside. The wall curves at the base towards the sock, which is flat. It rests on an annular foot, whose fulcrum is narrow and free of glaze; the underside of the base is recessed and flat. There are slight flaws in the reverse glaze. There is a blue-painted mark below the base, in a double ring: spread over two registers, it consists of various geometric symbols, including a pair that resemble A-squares; the decoration is applied by transfer printing and hand-painted in blue underglaze and polychrome overglaze; the printed decoration is blue and the painted decoration is in blue, red and green with gilding; it is of the Fan motif. The painted decoration is on the inner wall and bottom. On the inner wall, it consists of three fans arranged in a triangle below the rim; the radiating blades with rounded tips are painted alternately in blue, green and red, with gold highlights. Between them are three triangular disks, trimmed with a gold-painted star lattice. The background is trimmed with a ring printed in blue and decorated with leafy stems and flowers in reserve; it surrounds a flower whose petals are painted in gold, and whose core is painted in red and green; this decoration is largely obliterated. The decoration on the outer wall consists of two long leafy branches with a central spiral, painted in blue underglaze; each is adorned with a flower painted in red with gilding over glaze. Gilding has been added to the top of the saucer rim, but has largely disappeared.
