Dish
The dish is complete; some breaks have been repaired with spikes and wire. It is circular in shape with an undulating contour. In cross-section, the dish has an inward-sloping wing with a bulging rim, a high wall that curves towards the slightly domed, thick bottom. On the reverse, the dish’s support point is rounded. It shows numerous signs of wear. The inner bottom also shows traces of wear, as well as small linear marks. On the reverse there are four pairs of drilled holes holding studs made from a double rod of rusty iron. There are also seven of the rusty iron wires running through the wall, the ends of which are twisted on the reverse. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a bluish-white glaze. There are three traces of linear, triangular beads on the reverse; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in polychrome of blue and mauve underglaze and orange and green overglaze. It is of the flower basket type. The molded decoration is visible on the rim, which is wavy. Painted decoration can be seen on the rim and in the center of the base. The decoration on the wing is a broad braid in mauve. It is adorned with a green trellis with orange tips, regularly interrupted by two alternately repeated motifs. One motif is a three-lobed element in blue, surrounding radiating lines in orange. The other is a plant motif painted in blue and green with orange highlights, between arcs of circles in mauve and blue. The background is decorated with a small central flower basket. The basket is truncated cone-shaped, with a flat bottom and bulging rim; it is outlined in blue and filled with a latticework painted orange; the basket’s rendering imitates rattan. From the top of the basket emerge a central leaf painted blue and flanked by three triangular flowers, outlined in blue and adorned with orange lines. They are surrounded by green-painted leaves and curved plant stems in orange. The basket rests on a blue-painted, grassy terrace.
