Dish reproduction
The dish is complete; a break on the marli has been repaired with glue. It is circular with a plain rim. The marli is thick, flat and wide. The wall slopes towards the bottom and is not very high; the bottom is small and flat. The dish rests on a ring-shaped foot, whose wide, flat base is free of glaze. The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome of blue and black underglaze, and yellow overglaze. The painted decoration occupies the marli, the wall and the bottom of the face and reverse. It features plant, animal and scenic motifs. The decoration is delimited by a band and a fillet on the edge of the marli. It consists of two superimposed motifs. The top motif consists of armoires: they feature an azure shield adorned with a golden bird with outstretched wings, and surmounted by a helmet surrounded by leafy stems and feathers; it rests on flowering foliage. The main decor consists of a hunting scene, with rider, hounds and stag seen in profile to the left; in the background are hills and a town.
