Dish
The dish is complete; there is some missing enamel around the rim and a break has been repaired with iron studs. It is circular in shape, with an undulating rim. In cross-section, the marli is almost flat, barely sloping inwards, the wall is low and curved towards the bottom, which is flat. On the reverse, the dish rests on a massive ring-shaped foot, with a flat, recessed base. The base is flat and wide, with no glaze. The foot is pierced by two aligned suspension holes, the inside of which is covered with enamel. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with white enamel. There are two marks painted in blue under the base: (interlaced letters) and a circle surrounding a cross. On the reverse, the dish features nine iron spikes, the ends of which are inserted into as many pairs of drilled holes. The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome of blue underglaze and red, yellow, green, violet and black overglaze. It is of the cornucopia type. The painted decoration is visible on the rim, wall and base. The decoration on the rim is a fillet in black, supporting a row of overlapping semicircles. The main decoration occupies the background and the wall. The decoration is in black. It consists of two horns of plenty painted in yellow, blue and violet, with a central oval medallion decorated with a latticework traced in red with blue beads. From these horns emanate leaves painted yellow and green, and flowers trimmed with blue and red lines. Leafy stems, painted mauve and flowering, surround the horns; on the most massive of the stems stands an exotic bird seen in profile and painted blue, red and green. Various colorful winged insects swirl around the flowers and horns.
