Dish

The dish is complete; it has some breaks that have been repaired with glue. It is circular with a plain rim. The marli is raised, sloping towards the bottom, and the low wall curves towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, it rests on a ring-shaped foot, the base of which is unglazed; the bottom is recessed and flat. The foot is pierced by two aligned circular mounting holes, the inside of which is covered with enamel. The body is a pinkish-beige color, and the object is covered with a bluish-white enamel. There are three pernette marks arranged in a triangle on the reverse. There is a mark painted in blue under the base: f in cursive lettering; the decoration is hand-painted in blue and violet. It can be found on the inner wing, wall and base, as well as on the reverse. The decoration on the wing and wall is encircled by a double ring in violet. Each medallion features a different scene traced in violet and painted in blue, three with vegetal motifs and one with pagodas. The outer perimeter of the medallions is adorned with lines painted in dark blue. The space between the medallions is adorned with a violet-painted mass and blue-painted plant elements. The main decoration rests on the inner background, and is surrounded by a ring traced in violet. It consists of a chinoiserie scene, showing an Asian in profile, seated on a rock next to a large rock with a hole in it, and surrounded by leafy vegetation, shrubs and rocks, outlined in violet and painted blue. The reverse features a row of circles with a central pearl and Xs surrounded by four pearls, placed alternately and separated by broad lines, all painted blue.
