Dish
The dish is complete; there is a chip on the rim. It is circular in shape with a plain rim. On the front, the rim slopes inwards, and the wall is low and curved towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, it rests on a flat base with a rounded rim. The body is beige, and the object is covered with a bluish-white glaze. There are three pernette marks arranged in a triangle on the reverse. The enamel is shiny. There are two marks painted in blue under the base, in two registers: G M X (curved); The decoration is hand-painted in two-tone. It has been traced and painted in blue underglaze and in red overglaze. It is of the compartmented braid and floral basket type. The decoration is painted on the wing and in the center of the background. The wing is decorated with a blue braid. The braid is decorated with two alternating motifs. One is in reserve on a blue-painted background: it consists of mirrored elements composed of a central half-flower surrounded by two scrolls followed by two quarter-flowers. These flowers are adorned with red radiating lines. The other motif is a latticework in red with blue beads. These two motifs are separated by a small segment of latticework in red; it is set in two blue-painted bands, while the sides are in reserve. The background features a flowery basket. The basket has a truncated cone shape on a flat swollen base and a flat swollen rim; it is outlined in blue and filled with a latticework painted red; the basket’s rendering imitates rattan. From the top of the basket emerge a central half-flower framed by two flowers; they are surrounded by leafy stems and grapes. The flowers are outlined in blue and partially filled with red radiating lines, while the leaves and grapes are painted blue. The basket rests on two acanthus leaves curving upwards. Beneath the center of the basket is a trifoliate element; another bead is flanked by two plant stems curved in an arc with a bead, painted red.
