Dish

The dish is complete; there is some missing enamel around the rim, particularly at the corners, and a crack has been repaired with wire. The dish is circular in shape, with an undulating rim. In cross-section, the rim is in line with the marli, which slopes towards the bottom; the latter is slightly domed on the face. The reverse of the dish is almost truncated cone-shaped, with a slightly concave wall and a slightly depressed center. The base of the dish is rounded. The body is pinkish-beige in color and covered with a bluish-white glaze; there are burrs near the rim on the reverse. Three traces of linear, triangular pernettes are visible under the marli. The base of the dish shows signs of wear. The inner base of the dish shows areas of amati enamel. The dish is cracked from edge to center. Near the edge, it is encircled by a pair of circular holes running through the dish. The dish is repaired with a rusty iron wire, inserted into the pair of small holes and held in place by a hard white paste, its ends twisted to the reverse of the dish ; The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome. The painted decoration was traced and painted in blue and black underglaze, then in red, yellow and green overglaze. It is of the compartmented braid and flower spray type. The decoration is painted on the rim, on the marli and in the center of the background. The border is tripartite, with pearls, a band and a braid. The rim is decorated with a row of large truncated pearls painted green. They are highlighted by a black line and separated by red dashes. The band is painted blue. The braid is painted black. It is adorned with two alternately repeated motifs. One is a latticework pattern in red with green pearls. The other is a latticework pattern in red with off-center beads in green, imitating fish scales. These two motifs are separated by a half-flower made of red radiating lines, with a green-painted core; it is set in two yellow-painted bands, while the sides are in reserve. The background is decorated with a sheaf of flowers. A few curved plant stems rise from a single trunk; outlined in very dark blue, they are trimmed with similarly outlined leaves, some painted blue, others green and yellow. These curved plant stems include a flower. The flower is outlined in blue, with red lines and a yellow core with green beads. Two red tendrils emerge from the whole.
