Dish

The dish is complete. It is circular with a plain rim. The marli is wide and slightly concave, with the wall curved towards the flat bottom. On the reverse, the flange is inclined towards the wall, which is convex. The dish rests on an annular foot, the base of which is free of glaze. The bottom features a flat, unglazed, ring-shaped plate near the foot. The center is recessed and flat. There are three pernette marks in a triangular pattern on the reverse, with a central mark. The decoration is hand-painted in polychrome of underglaze blue and overglaze red and gilding on the front and reverse. The decoration is vegetal, in the Japanese Imari style. The inner surface of the object is decorated on the marli, wall and bottom. The marli is decorated with four different groups of leafy stems and flowers, the stems painted blue and the flowers traced in red and painted orange, all with gold highlights. Groups are separated by four heart-shaped leaves, painted blue with gold highlights. The background between these motifs is adorned with foliage painted in matt gold. The wall is adorned with a blue-painted ribbon, covered with gold-painted foliage. The ribbon is adorned with four ovals in reserve, traced in red; they are adorned with a central vegetal motif traced in red and painted in orange and gold, from which emerge curved lines traced in red. The central decoration is surrounded by a blue-painted ring. It consists of a pot on a square support with feet, toua traced and painted in blue. The pot is in the form of an inverted baluster with a short neck and vertical handles painted gold; its blue-painted surface is adorned with gold highlights and its center, in reserve, is decorated with a flower traced in red and painted orange. From the pot emerge long blue-painted leaves and flowers traced in red and painted in orange and gold. The reverse wall is decorated with three long leafy stems traced and painted blue, and topped with flowers traced in red and painted orange and gold.
