Dish reproduction
The dish is complete. It is circular in shape with a wavy rim. The rim is convex and wide, sloping towards the bottom; the base is slightly convex. The dish rests on a ring-shaped foot with a flat, unglazed base. The foot is pierced by two circular, aligned mounting holes. There are hand-painted inscriptions in blue under the base, in two registers: (…) Trump (in cursive letters) ; an escutcheon marked MAKKUM on two interlocking letters (TT) and surmounted by an emperor’s crown ; The decoration is molded. It is visible on the rim, marli and base. The rim has an undulating contour, each undulation corresponding to a rounded gadroon on the marli face, radiating from the junction with the wall. The wall is decorated with concave gadroons radiating from the center of the base, which is plain and slightly domed. On the reverse, the gadroons on the marli have a negative impression, i.e. concave, while the wall is plain.
