Dish
The dish is complete; breaks have been repaired with studs and glue. The dish is oval-shaped, with an undulating rim. In cross-section, the rim is in line with the wing, which is narrow and inclined towards the bottom; the wall is high and curved towards the bottom, which is flat. On the reverse, the dish has a large, flat base; the wall is flared and the marli is flared and domed. The body is beige in color and covered with a glossy white glaze. Four traces of linear and rectangular beads are visible under the marli. The enamel is slightly flawed. The support point and bottom of the dish show signs of wear. There are linear wear marks on the inner base. The reverse features twelve pairs of drilled holes, eleven of which hold the ends of iron studs, held in place with white paste; the other pair of holes is filled with plaster; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in underglaze blue. It is of the Bérain embroidery style. The molded decoration is visible on the contour, on the marli and on the wall. The contour is undulating; the decoration on the marli is in the form of light flutes perpendicular to the contour and aligned with the concave parts, and they continue on the wall. The decoration is painted on both the marli and the background. The marli is decorated with a wide band between two fillets near the edge, bordering two alternately repeated embroidery elements. Each is made up of mirror-repeated elements, starting from a central element. The entire background is decorated with elements similar to those of the marli, surrounding an antique-style female bust on a rectangular base, itself seated on acanthus leaves, and framed by two smoking shell lamps. The top of the ensemble features a sort of cross-hatched breastplate edged with embroidery elements, from which a garland hangs. Mirrored fountains surround the sides of the ensemble.
