Dish

The dish is complete; a break has been repaired with wire. The dish is rectangular in shape, with a plain rim. The center of the ends is domed, while the sides are concave; the long sides are straight. In cross-section, the rim is bulging, and the marli is partly flat; the wall is high and curved towards the bottom, which is flat. On the reverse, the dish has a large, flat bottom; the wall is flared and the marli is flared and domed. The body is beige in color and covered with a glossy white glaze. Three traces of linear, triangular beads are visible under the marli. The enamel is slightly flawed. The support point and bottom of the dish show signs of wear. There are linear wear marks on the inner base. The dish has four pairs of drilled holes into which are inserted as many iron wires, the ends of which are twisted on the reverse of the dish; the other two pairs of holes, which have lost their wires, are filled with plaster ; The decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue underglaze. It is embroidered and floral. The molded decoration is visible on the rim, marli and wall. The decoration on the rim consists of a row of slight swellings perpendicular to the rim, while on the marli, it appears as spaced swellings perpendicular to the contour; they are aligned with those present on the wall. The decoration is painted on both the marli and the background. The marli is decorated with a band and fillet, bordering two alternately repeated embroidery elements. Each is composed of mirror-repeated elements, starting from a central element, including a flower with four circular, cross-hatched petals. The background decoration is floral. It consists of leafy stems topped by a variety of flowers. The decoration is drawn in very dark blue, almost black, and painted in dark blue with a broad brush.
