Historical context
This highly unusual sculpture, made from a portion of caribou antler, resembles a giant caterpillar, with its elongated body shape and the multiple striations adorning its back and socks. This creature with two black eyes moves by subtly lifting its trunk in an undulating motion that slants slightly to the left.
