Louis Cyr

Sculpture of Louis Cyr standing, arms crossed. He is wearing boots and a costume consisting of a gymnast’s jumpsuit and a knotted belt with bangs at the ends. He has long, loose hair and a goatee. Inscriptions are engraved on the sides of the base. The whole is painted in bronze.

Historical context

This plaster statuette, painted in bronze, depicts Louis Cyr, arms crossed, in his gymnast outfit, including boots and a fringed belt. The base bears the inscriptions “1863 LOUIS CYR 1912” and “L’homme le plus fort de tous les temps” (“The strongest man of all time”).
