Soapstone sculpture of the “Sea Woman”, generally known as Sedna on southern Baffin Island. Engraved on the base are a lone fish and a seal chasing another fish. There is also a second seal on an ice floe, while two fish swim by or under it.

Historical context

Soapstone sculpture of the “Sea Woman”, a character from Inuit mythology who created marine animals from the phalanges of her hands that fell into the water.
