Bowl

The container is complete; there are some cracks and chips on the rim, and slight flaws in the inner glaze. It is circular in shape with a plain rim. In cross-section, the vessel has a flared wall with an undulating top, and a flat bottom resting on a ring-shaped foot; the decoration is molded and hand-painted in blue underglaze. The molded decoration is visible on the top and the outer and inner walls. The painted decoration covers the entire inner and outer surfaces, as well as the center of the underside of the base. The top of the rim is corrugated and the wall is lined with molded tabs in relief on the face and recessed on the reverse, alternating wide and narrow. The painted decoration is found under the rim, on the wall and on the inner base. Under the rim, it consists of a fillet that follows the edge of the rim and four long groups of foliage and flowers. On the wall, the painted decoration follows the molded decoration and is made up of alternating wide and narrow panels in blue, each decorated with a leafy, flowering stem that varies according to the width of the panel. The top of the narrow panels is pointed, while that of the wide ones is double-lobed; they rest on a thin ring. The background decoration is surrounded by a thin ring. It consists of leafy and flowery ensembles, painted in dark blue; there is a central ensemble and two other massive ensembles with long branches that rest in mirror image on the ring surrounding the decoration. The decoration on the reverse consists of a fillet that follows the edge of the rim and four long foliage and blossom groups that rest on the panels. The panels are similar in shape to those on the front, and rest on a ring that encloses the foot. Their floral decoration differs, in that the smaller ones are undecorated and the larger ones feature the same motif as the smaller ones on the inside. The center of the underside of the base is adorned with a medallion made from a double ring.
