Bowl

The bowl is complete. The bowl is circular in shape. In profile, it has a slightly flared wall topped by a straight rim. The lower part of the wall is curved towards the bottom, which is flat. The bowl rests on a solid ring-shaped foot, whose beveled base is free of glaze ; The decoration covers the outside of the bowl, as well as the inside rim and bottom. The decoration is of the scenic lake type. It is hand-painted in underglaze blue. The inner rim is decorated with a complex pattern. It features a narrow braid with a row of ovals and a central pearl. This is followed by a braid with a double latticework, underlined by a fillet from which half-flowers hang. The braid is regularly interrupted by two different motifs, repeated in alternation. One is a solid trilobal mass, with a heart in reserve, and finished at the ends in a scroll. The other consists of two full acanthus leaves, arranged in a U-shaped curved mirror, surrounding pearl ovals. The bottom is adorned with a small grassy rock, emerging from the water. The main decoration on the outer wall consists of an island supporting a pagoda with a landing stage, flanked by a fence on the left and a sock pavilion on the right. The fence has three vertical posts and panels adorned with swastikas. Behind the fence grows a willow and, at its end, a tall, leafy, flowering stem. Behind the pavilion grows a tall, leafy bamboo plant, with a grassy area at its tip. The opposite wall is adorned with a rocky island, on which are a building and a long wall with a central opening; in the background rises a mountain. A small boat sails in front of the island, while bird sailboats fly in the sky.
