Bowl
The bowl is complete. It is circular in shape. In profile, it has a truncated cone-shaped wall that flares out at the top and is topped by a bulging rim with a domed top. The lower part of the wall curves towards the flat bottom. The bowl rests on an unglazed ring foot; the bottom is recessed and flat; the decoration is incised and hand-painted; it is blue in color and depicts a lake scene. The incised decoration is visible on the outer rim. The painted decoration is visible on the inner wall and bottom, as well as on the outer wall. The decoration on the upper half of the inner wall consists of a wide frieze of various elements. It is bordered at the top by a string of core beads. This is followed by a braid with a double lattice of spikes. It is regularly interrupted by a half-flower bordered by scrolls and delimited by a pair of curved lines. The braid borders various motifs, repeated in alternation, including three-lobed motifs flanked by pairs of circles enclosing squares – coins in fact – and flowers, on a background of small ovals topped with a central pearl, and scroll-filled triangles bordering a half-flower bordered by grecques filled with small ovals topped with a central pearl. The decoration on the inner background, which spills over the wall, is an oriental scene with islands, pagodas and rocks. The main island can be recognized by its pagoda with staircase; it is bordered by rocks. To the left, a fisherman sits on dry land, casting his line into the water. To the right, a long stone wall delimits a courtyard lined with a plant pot. The courtyard is enclosed by another wall with openings, behind which stands a pagoda. A mountain borders the scene on the right. In the foreground is a small rocky island with a pagoda enclosed by a wall and a willow tree. In the background is another rocky island with a tree and a building; a mountain rises behind. The outer wall is adorned with three similar stems, leafy and adorned with a ribbed flower, which are arranged in a triangle. The outer rim has a swollen lip adorned with sloping grooves imitating a cord.
