Bowl
The bowl is complete; there are some small marks on the rim, some cracks, and some breaks have been repaired with glue. It is circular in shape. The wall is flared at the top, and the rim has a plain top. The wall curves at the base towards the sock, which is flat. It rests on a ring-shaped foot. The underside of the base is recessed and flat. The foot is free of glaze ; The decoration is hand-painted in pink, blue, green, orange, brown, black and white polychrome enamels over glaze, with gold highlights, in the Famille rose style. It is of the lake landscape type. The decoration is visible on the marli and on the background. The decoration on the marli consists of a braid traced in brown and trimmed with a four-pointed star lattice on a turquoise background; the lattice is interrupted by four flowers traced in brown and painted pink, arranged in a cross. The background features a lake scene with two islands separated by a body of water. The island in the foreground, outlined in brown, is bordered by rocks outlined in brown and painted in green, blue and pink, on which stand three tall trees, their trunks painted in brown and blue; the leaves of two of the trees, including a pine, are outlined in black on a green background, while the other tree is covered with flowers painted in pink and white; it could be a plum tree in blossom. Two small trees have leaves painted green and red. A building on stilts painted red stands near the water, while the island houses a pagoda and pavilion at the foot of a mountain painted green, pink and blue. The island in the background features a small building and trees similar to those on the other island. A small boat driven by a man sails between the islands. A brown iron-based plaster covers the top of the bowl’s rim.
