Bowl
The bowl is complete, with one crack. It is circular in shape. Its wall is slightly flared, with a straight rim and domed top. The lower part of the wall is curved towards the bottom, which is flat. It rests on a solid ring-shaped foot, whose beveled base is free of glaze; the bottom is recessed and flat; the decoration is hand-painted in blue underglaze and polychrome enamels in pink, green and black overglaze, with gold highlights, in the Famille rose style. It is of the Oriental garden type. It is visible under the inner rim and on the outer wall. The decoration under the inner rim is a blue braid underlined by a line. It is composed of two alternately repeated motifs. One is a double latticework in red. The other features a stylized central flower in blue, painted red with gilding, and bordered by blue-painted leaves. This motif is surrounded by arched lines painted in blue with gold highlights. The center of the background is adorned with a small central flower traced and painted in red, on a stem and leaves traced and painted in blue. The wall is decorated with two different motifs, a garden and a small flower on the opposite wall. The garden consists of a blue-painted terrace. In the center, it supports a large, stylized rock with a double hole, a symbol of the Chinese philosophy of Taoism, traced and painted in blue. Emerging from this rock are leafy stems traced and painted blue, with small leaves traced in black and painted green, and a large peony painted pink; there are also bamboo stems painted blue, with leaves traced in black and painted green, with touches of gilding. This rock is bordered by a fence and a bamboo plant. The fence is painted blue, and behind it stands another peony similar to the previous one, and a blue-painted flower. The bamboo is painted blue, with touches of gold; it is trimmed with pink-painted flowers and leaves, and small leaves traced in black and painted green. The opposite wall is adorned with a large blue-painted stem, trimmed with a small pink-painted flower and small leaves outlined in black and painted green. A brown iron-based plaster covers the top of the bowl.
