Bowl
The bowl is complete; there is a small vertical crack. The wall is slightly flared, the rim straight and the top domed. It rests on a truncated cone-shaped foot. The foot is soot-stained and glaze-free in places. The decoration is applied by transfer printing and painted with gilding. The decoration is dark blue with an oriental motif (banana tree). The printed decoration is visible under the rim, on the inner background and on the outer wall. The decoration under the rim is complex and consists of two groups of different elements repeated in alternation. One group consists of two mirrored grecques with a half-flower in the center; they are at the center of a broad, loosely woven ribbon with a central flower, bordered at the ends by a large half-flower and a scroll. Two leafy, flowering stems run along the sock of the ribbon. The other motif is composed of two lobed shapes bordered by two scrolls, with a background of strings of core pearls; the whole is bordered by two lobed shapes with a background of fish scales. Various mirrored geometrical shapes border the socks of the lobed shapes. The decoration on the outer wall is an oriental scene with river, bridge and islands. On the main island stands a large, tiered building enclosed by a lattice fence; to its right stretches a long fence whose sections, decorated with swastikas, are zig-zag; it joins a long, tiered building adjoined by a large banana tree. The island is bordered by rocks at water level. To the left is a long bridge leading to a rock, over which a figure with an umbrella walks. Three small boats sail on either side of the bridge. The secondary scenery includes another boat sailing past an island on which two buildings stand; rocks border it at water level. The rendering of the decor is blurred. A fillet of gilding has been painted on the top of the rim and on the outer edge of the foot.
