Bowl

The bowl is complete; a break has been repaired with metal studs. It is circular in shape. It has a slightly flared wall, a straight rim and a domed top. It rests on a truncated cone-shaped foot. The foot is uneven and marked with small chips. There are flaws in the glaze on the outer rim and on the inner wall. There is a mark printed in blue below the base: C, i.e. an empty crescent. The inner base has practically lost its glaze. The outer wall features four copper metal studs, which are inserted into four pairs of small holes drilled in the wall; the studs are inserted in a white paste and their surface has been painted; the decoration is applied by transfer printed and hand-painted; it is blue in color and floral in motif (Three flowers, Flowers). The painted decoration is located under the inner rim: it consists of two superimposed horizontal rings, probably because the decoration has run off. The printed decoration is visible on both the outer wall and the inner base. On the outer wall, it comprises five motifs. The main motif consists of a group of flowers, including a rose on the right, and a long leafy stem on the left. The other motifs are leafy and flowery stems, and two butterflies with outstretched wings. The decoration on the outer wall has leaked. The decoration in the center of the background is a spray of leafy stems garnished with flowers.
